Saint Helena – Bamboo Hedge Estate – Green Tipped Bourbon – Washed Arabica
Saint Helena is one of the most remote and mysterious coffee regions in the world. Located in the Atlantic Ocean, more than 1,800 km from the African mainland, this small volcanic island produces one of the rarest and most characterful specialty coffees in existence.
The Bamboo Hedge Estate is one of the oldest plantations on the island and hand-cultivates the unique Green Tipped Bourbon variety – a legacy of the original coffee seeds introduced by the British from Yemen in the 18th century. At an altitude of 600 to 750 meters, in the mild oceanic climate and on fertile volcanic soils, the cherries ripen slowly. This contributes to a rich aromatic structure and balanced acidity. The coffee is processed using the washed method, resulting in a clear, clean cup with refined floral and fruity notes.
