The London Dry Angelicus Gin is based on an old recipe from the Eighty Years' War (1568–1648), from which genever was later developed, and subsequently gin. All the herbs used were known (and in some cases still are) for their beneficial effects on digestion.
The most important herb is, of course, juniper. The name Angelicus refers to one of the herbs used, angelica (Angelica archangelica). This herb gives Angelicus Gin its characteristic body and aftertaste.
