Every two years, Tavola celebrates the most remarkable innovations in fine and fresh food.


The Golden Tavola awards honour products that excel in taste, craftsmanship, sustainability or experience — leading creations carefully selected by a professional jury!

Winning and nominated products receive outstanding visibility: before, during and after Tavola 2026.

The competition is open to all Tavola 2026 exhibitors presenting an innovative product that:

  • was launched on the market between 1 March 2025 and 15 March 2026

  • is truly new (not merely a new flavour in an existing range).

Tavola is reshaping the competition with new categories — while maintaining and reinforcing the core criterion of INNOVATION.

1. TASTE & CRAFT

Honours the innovative fine food product that stands out for its taste, texture, craftsmanship and authenticity.
The focus is on the quality of the tasting experience and the artisanal or culinary mastery behind the product’s creation.

2. CONVENIENCE

Honours the fine food product that combines quality and refinement with time efficiency, simplicity or a smart user experience for the consumer, chef or professional.
“Convenience without compromise on taste, experience or sustainability.”

3. LUXE & INDULGENCE

This category rewards products that elevate the enjoyment of food and drink into a true sensory experience.
Not necessarily the most expensive ones, but those that combine emotion, craftsmanship, elegance and exceptional taste into a moment of pure indulgence.

4. HEALTH & BALANCE

This category rewards the fine food product that enables mindful enjoyment — nutritious, balanced, and designed with the consumer’s well-being in mind.
The focus is on the smart balance between taste, nutritional value, and natural composition.

5. SUSTAINABLE & ETHICAL

This category rewards the fine food product that translates sustainability into every step of its lifecycle — from ingredient to packaging — while maintaining taste, authenticity and aesthetics.
These are products that are good for people, the planet and the senses.

6. PEOPLE'S CHOICE

During Tavola, trade visitors will have the opportunity to cast their vote at the Golden Tavola stand.
Every nominated and winning product in the competition automatically competes for this award.
Pre-registration for this category is not possible.

IMPORTANT DATES

1st ROUND - SELECTION BASED ON INNVATION

  • Registration deadline: Friday, 9 January 2026

  • Sample delivery: Monday 12 & Tuesday 13 January 2026
    (between 8:30 AM and 12:00 PM – Kortrijk Xpo, South entrance)

  • Jury evaluation: 14–29 January 2026

  • 1st round results: 30 January 2026

2nd round – FINAL JURY INCL TASTING

  • Delivery of new samples: Friday 6 February 2026

  • Jury evaluation: week 9 February 2026

  • Winners announced: 12 February 2026

  • Award ceremony: 3 March 2026

Entry fee

€300 (excl. VAT) per product – Includes:

  • Participation in the competition;

  • Inclusion in the fair guide;

  • Presentation at the fair (if selected for the 2nd round);

  • Trophy in case of winning;

  • Communication via all Tavola channels.

HOW TO REGISTER

  1. Log in to the exhibitors’ portal using your email and password

  2. Select the ‘Golden Tavola’ section

  3. First, add your product under ‘Your products’

  4. Then select the product to enter the competition and complete the form

1st ROUND

  • Deadline inscriptions: Wednesday 10 January 2024
  • Delivery of samples:
    • 11 and 12 January 2024
    • between 8.30 and 12.00
    • Kortrjik Xpo - entrance Xpo Zuid - GPS: Kennedylaan 100 - 8500 Kortrijk
  • Number of samples *:
    • Fine foods in self-service & Delicatessens: 4 samples
    • Fine foods with service & Foodservice: 2 to 3 samples
  • Appointments round 1: 15 to 31 January 2024
  • Notification of participants result round 1: 5 February

* In the first round, products are not tasted. However, if a buyer asks to keep or taste a sample of the product, the sample remains with the buyer in question.
In the case of voluminous products (e.g. ham / cheese ball / ...), 3 samples are not necessary and 1 sample may suffice. Samples that can still be used in the 2nd round (non-refrigerated products with a long shelf life can in some cases be used in the 2nd round). If in doubt about the number of samples, please contact us by phone.

2nd ROUND

  • Delivery of new samples: Thursday 15 February '24
  • Judging 2nd round: Tuesday 20 and Wednesday 21 February '24
  • Notification of winners: Thursday 22 February '24
  • Prize-giving ceremony: Tuesday 5 March
